😁 - A Thorough Review

Upgraded to the King ProAdapt-Firm mattress after spending the past decade loving my old Queen Tempur Deluxe.
I took all the current models for a "test drive" at a local mattress store, and came to the conclusion that the PA-F would be the best fit for me. Loved the Deluxe bed but felt like it was maybe a bit too soft in the morning after spending all night sleeping on it (it had a medium tensile rating). After my test drives, I read nearly all 2000+ reviews of the PA-F before purchasing (I have a lot of pandemic time on my hands these days). I had a few concerns after reading other reviews which I'd like to take a second to address.
1) a common complaint was that people were saying the mattress shipped felt much firmer than the mattress experienced in store. I can say that for me, this was not the case. With all Tempur mattresses it's going to take a week or two to break them in however there definitely was not a marked difference between the mattress I tested in store and the mattress delivered. The only explanation I could possibly give to this is maybe the mattress people were testing in stores was sitting in front of a window in direct sunlight all day (which will make any heat sensitive mattress feel softer).
2) another common complaint was the odor. It does have a MILD new foam odor to it which I'm sure, like my last Tempur, will dissipate within a couple days. And even if it takes longer than that, it's ok... does anyone complain about that new car smell? No. Just smells super fresh.
3) there were complaints regarding customer service / delivery hassles. I can say there were no issues. Even during these "unprecedented times" my mattress was ready for delivery in about a week and my delivery people gave me an arrival window of 8-10 and arrived at 8:00 on the dot after calling me 1/2 hour beforehand to give me the heads-up they would be there in 30 minutes. They were polite and professional. They took care entering my house and navigating the staircase and hallways.
To me it seems like maybe people didn't do enough research regarding what they wanted and assumed a mattress is a one sized fits all type situation- it's not. They make a variety of lines with a variety of feels for a reason. Do your HW, figure out what you like and what your expectations are prior to making a purchase. This isn't a pair of jeans, this is a major purchase; treat it with the respect it deserves. TempurPedics ARE super pricy. Would I have loved the price to have been 1000 lower? YES, but you definitely pay for what you get, like I said I had my last mattress for a decade and would still be using it were it not for adding a German Shepherd to my family who refuses to sleep on the floor. Only reason why I upgraded was because a king affords us all the opportunity to sleep comfortably. On that note these mattresses are great with animals. They don't absorb that musk from dander that other brands absorb so easily. The nails don't damage them either.
Next up: my impression on this mattress... it has the perfect ratio of firmness to softness. I'm not sinking in like I was on the Deluxe Bed. The sinking in feeling did have its own benefits, but the cons definitely out weighed the benefits, as it made you feel MUCH warmer and did have the propensity to make you sweat. While this is not one of their "cooling" mattresses, TempurPedic has done something marvelous to the cover of this series. You touch it and it literally feels cool to the touch. Huge upgrade from the Deluxe series.
I have terrible scoliosis. My back is S shaped with 42° and 38° angles. Finding a comfortable sleeping position for a restful sleep is difficult and with other mattresses I wind up tossing and turning three or four hours into sleep because my back locks up. The pressure relieving material of these mattresses is the only thing that allows me to get a full nights sleep without waking up in pain. It's why I don't care that I just spent three months rent on a mattress and why I don't even consider looking at other brands. You can't put a price on a good nights sleep; it changes your whole day!
Buying directly for TempurPedic is the way to go as they come with the full warranty and delivery m, however definitely do go to your local store to test out the mattresses in advance so you can pick the right fit for you. Will save you hassle on the backend if you know exactly what you want up front.
Next up: Tempur-Ergo 2.0
I definitely consider this to have been a splurge. I was originally just going to get the Ease but after looking at what I was already spending on the mattress I said "treat yo self" and am not disappointed. Tbh I originally bout the Ergo instead of the Ease because I'm vain and wanted the remote to be branded with the TempurPedic logo. However I definitely made the right choice for more reasons than that. 1) it has several preset buttons including a "favorite" selection. 2) the lights are super convenient. 3) as finicky as it sounds, the massage feature, while just being a vibration feature, is definitely better than I thought it would be, it's quite quiet and after a long day helps you relax your sore muscles. While I wouldn't say the ErgoExtend is worth the extra grand, I definitely would say the Ergo is worth the few hundred more than the Ease.
The ONLY complaint I have regarding this whole process: as you can tell I do a ton of research prior to making any purchase of this magnitude. I priced everything out and was given a final price before clicking "place my order"... it wasn't until after I clicked confirm and place my order that the tax was then included into the price. While I admit it was my own oversight, I was a taken aback when (after it was too late to factor into my budget) that 500 was added to the total price. This definitely needs to be changed as we're not talking about a 10 or 20 dollar difference. 500 is a major factor, that I feel like should've been made clear before you can't change your mind.
Hope you've found this review well rebounded and informative. All in all, would recommend these mattresses to anyone, just make sure you've factored in taxes to your budget before clicking "place my order".
